SpineFilm is a micro‐studio that produced a series of short films in 2016. The most successful of these was:

The Devil's Command

An underdog story about courage, resolve, and self‐sacrifice. It was accepted into six festivals, reaching a semi‐final, and receiving one award. It is a supernatural thriller that was shot with two Mini-DV camcorders and (shocker) without a budget.

get a production credit

A feature length script is nearing final draft stage. Anyone interested in securing a production credit on the project can apply now. Enthusiasm is more important than experience because the key objective for producers is to generate support. The budget is set at £4000 with a minimum of £2500 to get the film made. Depending on the level of commitment some may be executive producers. They will receive a copy of the script and can have an enhanced level of involvement. In particular, some help with a location would be welcome: two rooms connected by a corridor is a priority. A bare windowless office setting with 80s or 90s decor would be ideal. There is also a specialist wardrobe requirement for a monastic robe ‐ the older, the better.

selective information

The drama is based on controversial events from Britain's recent past, researched over the last two years. The script is therefore mainly polemical dialogue. Multimedia packs to assist with character development will be available to actors after casting. There will be questions designed to help actors build back stories in preparation for their roles. Auditions will be held via Teams or Zoom. To be notified about casting either join the mailing list or consult The Spinal Column blog. The basic specifications are:
