Jack Wraw is an activist in police custody. He is accused of planning to protest unlawfully to create "serious disruption" at a high-profile event. In a police interview room he tries to defend his right to peaceful dissent. While he combats fatigue, and fends off waves of interrogation, he finds an example to follow ‐ then the fortitude to persevere. Is he actually guilty of an offence? Does he deserve this treatment? Is his cause worthy of public attention? You can decide.

British governments are increasingly trying to curb freedom of expression. They know that issues can be suppressed unless people make their voices heard. If concerns can be elevated to a wider audience, more of us have an opportunity to consider our beliefs or values, and, if appropriate, to formulate a stance. That's often the way civil rights have been won or protected.

Based on events that occurred in May 2023, this film explores the matter of our freedom to voice opinions peacefully, even if the cause is controversial, emotionally charged, or a challenge to the established order.

Thanks to everyone involved: Fitim, Jane, Jamie, Damian, Yasmin, Laura, Caroline, Ian, and, of course, my lovely wife Tanya: Cast credits.
